Shooting an Elephant

In the short story 'Shooting an Elephant' the concept of enemy revolves around more that two characters.. one is the speaker,George Orwell, others are the British and the Burmese.
For the Burmese the Britishers were their enemies as they had invaded their land and were ruling them by force, and so was George Orwell as he was a part of the British Empire. British considered the Burmese their enemy but George Orwell's thinking was different from the British. He thought that the British was wrong to invade the land of the Burmese, Still he was disliked by the Burmese because to them he was a white police man working for the British.
